Former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, according to multiple reports. The surgery was successful, and Finch is expected to make a full recovery.

Finch, 52, was named head coach of the Timberwolves in February 2021. He led the team to a 26-46 record in his first season, and they missed the playoffs.

Finch was fired by the Timberwolves in February 2023. He was replaced by interim head coach Ryan Saunders.

Finch's Career

Finch has been a coach in the NBA for over 20 years. He has also coached in the G League and internationally.

Finch was an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, and New Orleans Hornets before becoming the head coach of the Timberwolves.
