Bruins Defeat Maple Leafs in Overtime Thriller, Advance to Game 7

Pastrnak's Overtime Heroics Seal Series Victory

Boston Secures Game 7 Spot, Concludes Thrilling Second Round

In a heart-pounding overtime battle, David Pastrnak emerged as the hero for the Boston Bruins, scoring a game-winning goal to propel his team to a thrilling 4-3 victory over the rival Toronto Maple Leafs. The game concluded an intense second round series, with the Bruins now advancing to Game 7.

After a scoreless first period, the second saw an offensive explosion, with both teams trading blows. Pastrnak, along with linemates Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, played a crucial role in Boston's offensive surge, combining for three goals in the frame.

The Maple Leafs refused to be outdone, with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner leading their charge. Matthews scored a power-play goal, while Marner added another in the closing minutes of the period, knotting the score at 3-3.

The third period was a tense affair, with neither team able to find a winning edge. As the clock ticked down, it became clear that the game would be decided in overtime.

In the extra session, the Bruins maintained their pressure, and with just over two minutes remaining, Pastrnak capitalized on a rebound created by a shot from Marchand. The goal sent the Bruins bench into a frenzy and ignited a deafening roar from the home crowd.

The Bruins now hold a 3-3 series record against the Maple Leafs, with Game 7 set to take place on Wednesday in Toronto. The winner of that game will face the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals.
